Mr. Franklin McDill, 78, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Wednesday, March 5th, at Murphy Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Justin Wilcher officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McDill was born April 8, 1935, in Pickens County, AL. He was retired from the sawmill business and worked with Warner Construction. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Jason McDill; and his parents, Beatrice & Walter Thomas McDill. He is survived by his wife, Shirley McDill of Louisville; a daughter, Vickey Lynn McDill of Fort Worth, TX; three sons, Timothy Franklin (Michelle) McDill of Louisville, Terry (Brenda) McDill of Kosciusko, MS, and Jeffrey Scott (Christy) McDill of Noxapater; two sisters, Ruby Evelyn Black of Ackerman, and Lucille Carter of Columbus, MS; a brother, Kenneth Earl McDill of Jackson, MS; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Trey McDill, Adam McDill, Kyle McDill, Chris Hemphill, Cliff Moore, and Willie White. Memorials may be made to Murphy Creek Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
