Fran Brewer

Mrs. Fran Brewer, 79, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at her home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 27th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Tommy Shields officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Brewer was born May 16, 1934, in Thomaston, Alabama. She was a bookkeeper for Dr. John A. Crawford and Dr. Dewitt Crawford, and also worked at Winston County Hospital and Nursing Home. She also worked for Spartus Corporation, and a local shirt factory. Mrs. Brewer was also a member of Louisville Presbyterian Church, and the Louisville Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Brewer; her parents, Pauline Schroeder and Buford David Cobb; a sister, Emily Lane; and two brothers, Alvis Cobb, and Curtis Cobb. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Mary) Brewer of Florence, MS, and Bob (Leslie) Brewer of Lander, WY; her daughter, Rhonda (Mike) Hailey of Houston, MS; four sisters, Laverne Dennis of Saraland, AL, Lillian Black of Linden, AL, Sandra Booth of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Alma Jean Johnson of Deatsville, AL; one brother, Kenneth Cobb of Linden, AL; 8 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Louisville Lions Club, or the charity of your choice.
