Marvin L. Cole

Mr. Marvin Ladell Cole, 88, died Monday, December 16, 2013, at his home in Louisville. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, December 19th, at Harmony Baptist Church, with Dr. Kelly Barnett, Rev. Jerry Lundy, and Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Cole was born November 4, 1925, in Neshoba County, MS. He was retired from the maintenance department from Georgia Pacific. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and Grady Cole, and his first wife, Gladys Cole. He is survived by his wife, Frances Hamm Quinn Cole of Louisville; a daughter, Mary Coletti (Kelly) Barnett of Florence, TX; two step-daughters, Vickie (Randy) Hatten of Gulfport, MS, and Betty(Wesley) Landrum of Meridian, MS; a step-son, Billy J. Quinn of Jackson, MS; a sister, Lois Barnes of Louisville; two grandchildren, Katelyn (Paul Michael) Moore, and Kyle Barnett; and one great grandchild, Luke Moore. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
