Roy Langford

Mr. Roy Wilson Langford, 84, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 16th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Langford was born January 9, 1929, in Clay County, MS. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving over 20 years, and a member of First Christian Church in West Point, MS. Mr. Langford was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie Lou Howell and John Claude Langford; and his brother, James Langford. He is survived by his wife, Joan Hill Langford of Louisville, MS; one daughter, Cynthia Waites of Columbus, MS; two sons, Roy (Barbara) Langford, Jr. of Winter Haven, FL, and Curtis R. (Nicole) Langford of Columbus, MS; one sister, Etta Florence Moon of West Point, MS; one step-daughter, Jimmie Elizabeth Montez of Upland, CA; one step-son, Thomas Stanford of Wichita Falls, TX; 3 grandchildren, Alex Langford, Julia Langford, and Jessica Langford; and 3 great grandchildren, Hailey Marie Langford, Aubree Ann Langford, and Avery Anna King.
