Nellie Earlene Howard

Mrs. Nellie Earlene Howard, 79, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, At OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 17, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Frazier and Rev. DeWayne Kelsey officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Howard was born February 17, 1934. She was a retired supervisor for Spartus Corporation, and a member of Zion Chapel Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Howard; her parents, Emma Jones and James Robert Quinn; one son, Walter Dale Howard; and three brothers, Will R. Quinn, Robert C. Quinn, and James R. Quinn. She is survived by two sons, Paul Howard and Wayde (Jeannie) Howard, both of Louisville, MS; seven sisters, Louise Hamilton of Noxapater, MS, Ora Lee Dickerson of Noxapater, MS, Minnie McKee of Alsip, IL, Bessie Carnes of Monee, IL, Ida Mae Dickerson of Louisville, MS, Lila Kitchens of Louisville, MS, and Betty Jackson of Russellville, AL; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Zion Chapel Missionary Fund.
