Mr. Larry Wayne Cox, 63, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, in Newton, MS. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 15th, at 4:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Dotson officiating. Interment will be in Doty Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Cox was born April 9, 1950, in Cleveland, MS. He was a carpenter, and a member of River of Life Church in Meridian, MS. He served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army during The Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aliece Ray and James H. Cox; one sister Janie Carol Cox; one brother, Kenny Bowlin; and a step-daughter, Phyllis Beard. He is survived by his wife, Georgina Cox of Chunky, MS; his daughters, Jennifer (Richard) Gaylord of Macon, MS, and Samantha (Pat) Blalock of Meridian, MS, and their mother Dorothy Cox; step-daughter Christina Duggan of New Orleans, LA; step-son CPL Garett M. (Alyssa) Duggan, Marine Corps Air Station New River; his sister, Rita Dugger of Greenwood, MS; two brothers, Jimmy Cox of Sulpher Springs, TX, and Glenn Cox of Meridian, MS; his grandchildren, Tyler Cox, Kaitlyn and Alley Newcomb, Courtney and Sara Gaylord, Step-grandchildren Rebecca-Lynn and Lauren Lopez, Brook Hawthorne, Jamie & Robbie Blalock and great grandchildren, Cohen Porter Eubanks-Cox, Baily Rhea Sullivan, Nathaniel, Cailee and Bud Warrell. Pallbearers will be Pat Blalock, Tyler Cox, Colton Parker, Richard Gaylord, Paul Tranum, and Johnny Tranum.
