Mr. James Pearson "Doc” Flake, 76, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 20th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Dewayne Kelsey officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Flake was born February 4, 1937, in Winston County, MS. He was a retired truck driver, and a member of Zion Chapel Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lil Childress Flake of Louisville; son, Keith (Clarissa) Flake of Louisville; daughter, Tammy Flake Eaves of Louisville; Grandchildren: Tyler & Taylor Flake, Charleigh, and Kingsley; brothers, Jeff (Gloria) Flake and Paul (Dell) Flake, both of Louisville; sisters, Bobbie Nell (Delton) Moore of Powder Springs, GA, and Glenda (Jimmy) Burrage of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Tabor and Jennie Ruth Foster Flake; and sisters, Myrtle Ruth Flake, Annie Frances Flake Crick, and Sherry Flake Stewart. Pallbearers will be Danny Fuller, Robby Fuller, Jeffrey Eubanks, Jamie Flake, Ronnie Flake, and Carl Flake. He was a man who loved the Lord, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
