Mr. Charles Pinkney Jordan, 85, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Phil Fancher officiating. Interment will be in Betheden Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Jordan was born May 24, 1928, in Louisville, MS. He had 26 years of active military service, having served in the National Guard, the U. S. Marines, and retired as Master Sergeant from the U. S. Army in 1976. He served as Civil Defense Director in Louisville for 9 years, worked with the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department of 16 years, and worked at Northgate Cinema for many years. He was a Mason, and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Billie Faye Lindsey Jordan; daughters, Janet Douglas of Columbus, MS, Lisa Noffsinger of Starkville, MS, Annette Ingles of Oak Island, NC, and Gina Wallace of Wingate, NC; a son, Gary Jordan of Ash, NC; two brothers, J. B. Jordan of Roxie, MS, and Junious Jordan of Terry, MS; a sister, Francis Harris of Rodgers, Ark; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
