Clara Jordan

Mrs. Clara Jordan, 86, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her home in Louisville. Private graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 13th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Visitation for friends will be Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. Jordan was born April 15, 1926, in Maben, MS, to Rosie and Thomas Smitson. She was a 1946 graduate of Lee High School in Columbus, MS; and worked as a clerk for Mr. A. Q. Anderson and Mr. Charley McCool at Doctor’s Pharmacy for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan C. Jordan, Sr. She is survived by a son, Danny Jordan of Louisville; three daughters, J. J. Jordan, Carol Patterson, and Charlotte Files, all of Louisville; a niece, Johnna Williamson of Louisville; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, Columbus, MS.
