Mr. Lewis F. Coffey, 79, died Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Vickers Personal Care Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 31st, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenny Hodges officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Point Cemetery in Renfroe, MS. Visitation will be Monday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Starkville, MS, and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville. Mr. Coffey was born September 4, 1933, in Leake County, Mississippi. He was an Army veteran, and received his B.S. degree in Geology from Mississippi State University. He was the former owner of Firestone and Town & Country Furniture in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Dee Mitchell Coffey. Mr. Coffey is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Blake) Purcell of St. Petersburg, Russia, and Melinda (Rodney) Merkel of Temperance, MI; two sons, Kent (Judy) Coffey of Starkville, and Chris Coffey of Starkville; a brother, Joe Coffey of Madison, MS; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
