Elton Earl Watson, Jr., 59, passed away on August 11, 2012, in Louisville, MS. Elton was born in Louisville on December 23, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Louisville High School and a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he studied microbiology. He began his career as an infection control officer with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Philadelphia, MS. In 1983, he joined his father as a partner at Louisville Hickory, Inc. before returning to laboratory work at Winston Medical Center and Choctaw Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Elton is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Lisa Blalock Watson, of Louisville; daughters, Katie Watson of Arlington, VA, and Maggie Watson of Louisville; parents, Peggy and Earl Watson of Louisville; brother, David Watson of Louisville; sister, Janet (Ron) Collins of Madison; and mother- and father-in-law, Dot and Tom Blalock of Meridian. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening at First Baptist Church of Louisville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, at 11 o’clock in the morning at First Baptist Church of Louisville, with Rev. Leslie Mills officiating. A private burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Pallbearers are James Ashley, Will Butts, Ron Collins, Scott Hendrix, Pete Mills, and Pete Stribling.
