Mattie Hodges White

Mrs. Mattie Hodges White, 95, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 5th, at East Louisville Baptist Church, with Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. White was born August 6, 1916, in Eupora, MS. She was a retired social worker for the Winston County Welfare Dept. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Louisville Lodge # 60, and a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Davis White; her parents, Mattie Roberson and Jim Ed Hodges; her brother, James Robert Hodges; and one nephew, Jim Watson. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lucille (Rupert) Watson of Eupora, MS; two step-sons, Joe (Anne) White of Tallahassee, FL, and Bud (Ellen) White of Mobile, AL; two nephews, Tom (Sharon) Watson of Knoxville, TN, and Jim Hodges of California; one niece, Charlene (Randy) Baskin of Covington, TN; 6 step-grandchildren; 6 great step-grandchildren; 8 great nieces and nephews; and 7 great great nieces and nephews.
