Mr. Thomas Ray Mitchell Jr., 68, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Father Joe Tonas officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mitchell was born August 19th, 1943 in Louisville, Mississippi. He was a salesman for Louisville Brick Company, a field representative for Baptist Chemical Dependency Center, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also served his country as a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zona Crews and Thomas Ray Mitchell Sr.; and a brother, Paul Mitchell. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Nowell of Louisville, MS; a son, Robert Paul Mitchell of Ocean Springs, MS; one sister, Mary (Ernest) Simmons of Hazelhurst, MS; one brother, John (Carol) Mitchell of Louisville, MS; three grandchildren, Eric (Samantha) Nowell, Madison Nowell, and Benjamin Mitchell; and one great grandchild, Braxton Nowell. Pallbearers will be Matthew Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Dr. David Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Eric Nowell, and Steve Vance.
