Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Paschal Cemetery in Brandon, MS. Edith’s brother, Bill Taylor, was quoted saying that when his big sister was born it was a good omen. Suddenly,” fortune” seemed to smile on the family. Well, that “fortune” lasted almost 90 years!!! Edith graduated from Louisville High School in 1939 then went to Blue Mountain College where she majored in business and English. When she completed Blue Mountain in 1943 she took jobs with Belzoni Baptist Church as secretary followed with a position as secretary to R.G. LeTourneau's with LeTourneau Company in Vicksburg, followed by a position with Parkway Baptist Church. Her father then told her it was time for her to come back to Louisville, MS and work for Taylor Machine Works. In 1946 Edith moved to Jackson to work for Taylor Machine Works first branch office on Gallatin Street. This branch became a distributor for GM Diesel engines. One day when Edith's dad was in the Jackson office a man named Price Paschal who had just established Price Paschal Lumber Company in Brandon, MS came in to look at engines. Alex Taylor told him he needed a twin diesel engine and Price replied "Mr. Taylor, I need a twin diesel engine like I need twin Children." Edith heard this and thought that was a strange thing to say, what does that have to do with an engine? But her dad was impressed and he told her that would be a nice person to date. Well, seven years later on June 12, 1953 Edith Taylor and Price Paschal were married at Green Acres Plantation in Florence, MS. In 1959 he got those twin children along with that twin diesel! Edith was the director of the Taylor Machine Works, Inc. spiritual center for many years, board of directors member for Taylor machine Works, Inc., and Blue Mountain College alumnus of the year 1976. Her loves were studying the Bible, her family, and traveling with her sister Jeanette and brother in law Jerry. Her goal in life was to lead the quiet life....but that never happened. Mrs. Paschal was preceded in death by her husband, William Price Paschal, Sr.; a daughter, Elisa Ann Paschal; a son, Price Paschal, Jr.; her parents, Leon & W. A. “Alex” Taylor Sr.; and her brother, W. A. “Bill” Taylor. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Edith (Chris) Shapley of Jackson; a son, John Taylor (Suzanne) Paschal of Louisville, MS; a sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Donald of Louisville; sister-in-law, Mitzi Taylor of Louisville; and four grandchildren, Taylor (Candice) Paschal of Mesa, AZ; Chaney Paschal of Starkville; Price Davis of Jackson; and Cameron Paschal of Louisville. The family wishes to express appreciation to The Blake for their love and kindness. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Rick Hughes Ministries, Box 100, Cropwell, Al 35054.
