Mr. Wayne Culwell, 77, died Friday, February 3, 2012, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, February 5th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Dalton, Rev. Ron Williams, and Rev. Malcolm Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Betheden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Culwell was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Farm Bureau board of directors. He was a member of the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association, and a member of Flower Ridge Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula B. Spence and William Jackson Culwell. He is survived by his wife, Darlyne Culwell of Louisville; two daughters, Peggy (Randy) Skinner of Union, MS, and Kathy Robertson and fiancé Paul McBrayer of Louisville; a brother, Bobby Culwell of Louisville; three grandchildren, Kelly (Scott) Hayman, Kyle Skinner, and Gracie McBrayer, and was expecting his first great grandchild, Hadley. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Scotty Smith, Dwayne Rushing, Phil Hartness, Joey Griffin, Robert Lowery, Hugh Hathorn, and Rusty Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of EMEPA, Hoyle Higgason, and Ronnie Hartness. Memorials may be made to the Gideon’s International.
