Mr. Selby K. Sullivan, 87, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Sullivan was born August 24, 1924, in Winston County, MS. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and the oldest member of the Winstonville Masonic Lodge. He worked for the Fair Company and was office manager for Jarvis Oil Company. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, and a past president of the Ellison Ridge Water Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Bertha and William Jackson Sullivan; a daughter, Alma Jolene Sullivan; sisters, Gondine Sullivan, Alice Clay Tingle, and Decile Hisaw; and brothers, Grover Sullivan, Randle Sullivan, J. W. Sullivan, and Roy Sullivan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Archie Ree Whitehead Sullivan of Louisville; a daughter, Terressa (Danny) Ward of Louisville; a sister, Jerleen Horn of Des Allemands, LA; a brother, Billy Sullivan of Louisville; two grandchildren, Josh (Ginger) Ward of Orange City, FL, and Jolie (Jonathan) Eaves of Louisville; and three great grandchildren, Chandler Foster of Orange City, FL, Dawson Eaves and Hayze Eaves, both of Louisville; and a special nephew, Sherrell Breazeale of Philadelphia, MS. Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Cemetery Fund.
