Martha Sue Hendrix Price

Martha Sue Hendrix Price, age 94, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at Homeplace in Columbus, MS. She was born Jan. 29,1917 in Baldwyn, MS to Joe B. and Mary E. Hendrix. She was a retired Federal Employee, having gone to Washington, D.C. in 1942. There she met and married Col. George L. Price. She moved back to Ms. in 2005. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, husband Col. George L. Price, brothers, Talmadge and Joseph Hendrix, sisters, Thederal Dempsey and Kittie Mae Barnhill, grand-daughter Christian Mahan. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Shipp (Duke) of Chesapeake, VA., grandson Paul Mahan of Virginia Beach, VA. Sister-in-law Anne Hendrix of Columbus, MS and 2 great grandchildren. Nieces: Joy Childs, Barbara Mathews and Rebecca Ellis of Louisville, MS. Linda Childs of Ardadelphia, AR and Sue Pate of Jackson, MS., Mary Kay Suite of Mechanicsville, MD Nephews: Joseph A. Hendrix Jr. of New Orleans, LA, Perry and Joe M. Hendrix of Columbus, MS., Jack Dempsey of Cashiers, NC and George E. Price of Prescott, AZ. Pallbearers will be great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, 1/16, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, MS, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. until service time at Porter Funeral Home.
