Ruth Johnson Reed

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Johnson Reed, 84, died Monday, August 22, 2011, in Tallulah, LA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 25th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. Reed was born January 28, 1927, in Winston County, MS. She was a homemaker, and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold A. Reed; and her parents, Alma Elizabeth Wylie and Joseph Lee Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Alma Louise (Randall) Dillon of Vicksburg, MS; two sons, Paul Reed of Vicksburg, and Davis (Susan) Reed of Oak Ridge, TN; a sister, Pearline Estes of Forrest, MS; and two brothers, Olen Johnson of Louisville, and Doyal Johnson of Killen, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
