John S. Lindsay

Mr. John Shibley Lindsay, 53, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at his home in Noxapater, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 4th, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. James Dearing officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lindsay was born January 9, 1958, in Camden, AR. He was a diesel engineer on a riverboat and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bagwell. He is survived by his father, John S. Standrod of Noxapater; and his half-brother, Mark Standrod of Jupiter, FL. Pallbearers will be Ivan Reynolds, Devon Thomas, Charles Thomas, Kenneth Franklin, J.W. Thomas, and Jerry Barnett.
