Dorothy Bane Farish

Dorothy Faye Bane Farish, 88, passed away Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at NHC Health Care Center in Smithville, TN. She was born November 8th, 1922 in Winston County, MS. She was active in her late husband’s, Robert O. Farish, business ventures and was a successful owner of a ladies clothing store in Noxapater, MS for many years. She was an active Mississippi State Bulldog fan and attended every home football, basketball, and baseball game for many years. She also traveled to many road and bowl football games over the years. She and her husband traveled extensively in the Caribbean and Mexico. She also accompanied her husband on many Motor Home trips across the country after their retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chattie Kelly Bane and Jasper Bud Bane of Winston County, ten siblings, her husband of 70 years, Robert O. Farish of Noxapater, and her Grandson, Robert Tyler Miller Farish of Tulsa, OK. She is survived by daughter Alice Faye Iverlett (Spencer) of Smithville, TN, one son R. Wayne Farish (Ruthie) of Owasso, OK, grandson Neal Iverlett (Jennifer) of Murfreesboro, TN, granddaughter Kim Dykes (Wayne) of Owasso, OK, great grandchildren Briley and Brennan Iverlett of Murfreesboro, TN, Aubrey, Ben, and Sam Dykes of Owasso, OK, and many nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of Union Ridge Baptist and Noxapater Baptist Churches in Noxapater. Visitation will be Monday, July 25th, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral services at 3:00 PM. Visitation and funeral services will be conducted at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, MS. Interment will be at the Union Ridge Cemetery near Noxapater, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Union Ridge Cemetery Fund, Attention Jamie Clark, 1629 Johnson 5 Road, Noxapater, MS 39346, or Noxapater Baptist Church, PO Box 251, Noxapater, MS 39346. Memorials should be designated in memory of Dorothy Faye Bane Farish.
