Mrs. Dorothy Christine “Chris” Foster, 89, died Friday, May 27, 2011, at her home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 30th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Earnest Flake, Rev. Jimmy Flake, and Rev. Kenneth Hall officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Foster was born December 20, 1921, in Collinsville, AL. She was a retired LPN, and owner of Foster’s Basement. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, and Hope Apostolic Ministries Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Ray Foster; her parents, Walter Jackson Smith and Bertha Kitchens; one son, Earnest Walter “E.W” Benefield; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Benefield and Richard Lee Benefield. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Virginia Benefield ; and four grandchildren, Earnest Benefield Jr., Jackie Minger, Jane Watson, and Cathy Waldrep. Pallbearers will be Corey Watson, Joey Hill, Kelvin Stewart, Danny Miles, Tony Minger, and Brandon Beardon. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
