Ethel Christine White

Mrs. Ethel Christine White, 80, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. White was born November 5, 1930, in Kemper County, MS. She was a retired seamstress for Caljack Co. and was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. White; her parents, Teenie & Ransom Young; a sister, Ruby Jackson; and two brothers, Grady Young and Ransom Young, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Ethel (James) Hunt of Louisville, MS; three sisters, Hattie Trosper of Oregon, Addie Lee White of Baton Rouge, LA, and Mary Nell Higginbotham of Macon, MS; two grandchildren, Tammy Holton and Candice Hunt; and 4 great grandchildren, Kristen Thrash, Stephanie Thrash, Channing Smiley, and Martrell Miller. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
