Mrs. Ava Pearl Pickett, 82, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 11th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Billy Bowie officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. Pickett was born March 2, 1929, in Philadelphia, MS. She was retired from TRW and the Louisville Pants Factory. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and attended First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Hope Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, James E. Pickett of Louisville, MS; a daughter, Judy Keene (Ferdinand) LaChance of Dalzell, SC; a step-daughter-in-law, Diane Pickett of Noxapater; a step-daughter, Barbara Joe Pickett of Portsmouth, VA; a step-son, Eddie (Kathy) Pickett of Madison, MS; a brother, Jerry Williams of Abilene, TX; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
