Mr. Bob D. Mitchell, 78, died Monday, February 7, 2011, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, with Rev. Kent Cochran and Rev. Ricky McKay officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Mitchell was born June 26, 1932. He was a graduate of Louisville High School and Mississippi State University. He was a retired Chemical Sales Representative for Swift Co., and manager of the Winston County Co-Op. He was a Navy Veteran and served during the Korean conflict, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceeded in death by his wife, Deedye Boswell Mitchell; his parents, Early Mitchell and Marie McCully Mitchell; one brother, Henry Cooper “H.C.” Mitchell; and a nephew, Dennis Young. He is survived by a sister, Nella Dean (Charles) Whitten; a bother, Bruce (Sue) Mitchell; a sister-in-law, Doris Crenshaw; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Boswell; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Judd Boswell, Zach Boswell, Mike Mitchell, Rusty Mitchell, Josh Wienner, Edgar Kinard, and Bill Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Classs of Calvary Baptist Church. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Sta-Home Health and Hospice.
